Basic purpose of position: Operate an overhead intermodal crane to load and/or unload containers, chassis and trailers on and off railroad cars.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the daily operation of the overhead intermodal crane while loading & unloading containers and trailers to rail cars. This includes the locking and unlocking of container chassis & trailer hitches.
- Performs routine inspection preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, cleans equipment.
- Ensure all safety equipment is operating properly
- Always aware of surroundings when operating overhead crane to ensure a safe and injury free work environment.
- Perform housekeeping duties as required by site management
- Must be regularly available to work overtime, weekends and Holidays.
Experience Requirements: Must possess and demonstrate appropriate mechanical aptitude, as determined by the manager, to successfully perform the tasks associated with designated overhead intermodal crane operator classification.
Skills, Licenses, Certification, and/or Special Training:
- Must maintain a valid state driver's license if required to operate company equipment.
- Meet and maintain all requirements contained in the Conditions of Employment policy.
Physical, Mental & Sensory Requirements:
- Ability to constantly work in an outdoor environment, exposed to all weather elements, including extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust and noisy conditions;
- Ability to frequently climb in and out of various types of equipment;
- Ability to occasionally lift above shoulder height a weight of up to 50 pounds;
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 35 lbs;
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 60 lbs;
- Ability to frequently bend at waist crouch for periods of time up to 1 minute;
- Ability to operate a multitude of various tools included but not limited to: hand tools, pneumatic, hydraulic and fuel powered;
- Constantly required to use bending, twisting, walking motions on uneven surfaces throughout the entire work shift;
- Ability to occasionally apply opposing forces (one arm pushing while the other arm pulls) sustaining pressure while bent at the waist with hands below the knees;
- Must be able to hear work or safety instructions verbally communicated in a normal speaking voice;
- Must be able to tolerate working in and around various types of equipment during a normal shift;
- Must be able to work independently;
- Must be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
