Basic purpose of position: Perform in the capacity of an automotive accessory installer. Quality and error free installation is our goal.

Expectation: We expect all associates to be committed to a high standard of safety, be willing and able to comply with all safety policies/rules and willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory personnel. Individuals performing this function must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others. Job performance without equipment damage is essential to meeting our customers' safety, quality and production requirements.


  • Perform all work safely;
  • Communicate any safety or quality concerns;
  • Drive manual and standard transmission motor vehicles, at all times, in accordance with company and customer instructions/procedures;
  • Automotive lift
  • Inspect all customer vehicles for damage before beginning work;
  • Confirm all parts, accessory codes and numbers before beginning work;
  • Inspect parts before installing;
  • Follow all written work processes;
  • Perform damage free installation of accessories;
  • Post installation inspection;
  • Sign off on Quality accountability documentation for every install;
  • Accountability for hand tools, torque wrenches and light power tools;
  • Keeping work areas clear of waste and debris;
  • Must be able to work mandatory overtime hours when operating requirements or other business needs of Road & Rail cannot be fulfilled during regular business hours;

Education Requirements: High School education or ability.

Experience Requirements: Must possess and demonstrate appropriate mechanical aptitude, as determined by facility manager, to successfully perform the tasks associated with installing automotive accessories.

Skills, Licenses, Certification, and/or Special Training:

  • Must maintain a valid state driver's license if required to operate company equipment;
  • Meet and maintain all requirements contained in the Conditions of Employment policy.

Physical, Mental & Sensory Requirements:

  • Ability to constantly work in an indoor/outdoor environment, exposed to all weather elements, including extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust and noisy conditions;
  • Constantly required to use bending, kneeling, twisting and walking motions on uneven surfaces throughout entire work shift;
  • Constantly perform prolonged standing and/or walking at a rapid pace to keep up with demands of plant operations up to 5 miles in an 8 hour shift;
  • Possess physical strength and agility to constantly open and close automobile doors throughout shift;
  • Ability to rarely lift and carry up to 75 lbs;
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs;
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs;
  • Ability to push and pull at a force of up to 100 lbs;
  • Must be able to hear and communicate, work or safety instructions spoken in a normal voice;
  • Ability to read Vehicle Identification Numbers and other shipping documents;
  • Must have visual acuity and normal depth perception in both eyes to inspect and drive motor vehicles in limited lighting to include night/dusk and inside plant operations.
  • Must be able to work independently;
  • Must be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to walk on a moving assembly line belt.

Conditions of Employment: Employment is conditional, based on a medical examination which includes a drug screen, and an examination to verify candidates can safely perform the essential functions of the job. Road & Rail Services requires a post-offer motor vehicle reference check, background check, and employment and military (if applicable) verification required.
